Why the BMW N54/N55 made 1000 Horsepower
Dating back to 2006 BMW Released its first version of the N54 engine, this was the beginning of turbochargers being used in modern BMW vehicles since 1978 when it was featured in the 2002 Turbo and 745i. These early stages of turbo-charged engines would not see the day of light in production cars due to its lag issues, and would only be used in Formula 1 racing. In 2006 all of that would change.
