How to process amadou, from the horses hoof fungus.
The fommes fomentarius is a specious of bracket fungus that grows on both beech and birch here in the UK. We have used it for thousands of years for holding and transporting embers of a fire and for fire lighting.

In this video I show you how to separate the middle trama layer from the cuticle layer (outside surface layer) and the sporing tubes. We then boil until fluffy and dry out.
