3D printer enclosure review: Fireproof or Flameproof?
Here we have another product review. A 3D printer enclosure. It is claimed to be a fireproof but there is a catch out there. I would not call my product fireproof unless it is 100% fireproof under my opinion. This product has a skin that is fireproof yes but I would call it flame proof. In the video you guys will see that the material is not catching into flames, but it releases smoke from the black coating and it gets black color at the flame touch locations. Did it catch fire no, but there are other important points we need to discuss. The window is not fire/flame proof, it melts in contact with my kitchen lighter. And the stitching points are burning/ melting when in contact with my kitchen lighter. These two things are big issues for me. In the case of extensive 3D printer fire (may the God protect everyone) will this product withstand? That is debatable. But it will endure small one for sure, up to a point. Manufacturer should consider these 2 disadvantages for sure for a better second generation build.

Another point is, I put my CR10 inside of it. CR10 fits but the controller box does not fit. Well, what if circuits in the controller catches fire? This enclosure needs to be a bit wider for cr10 or cr10s to fit with their controller boxes. However, you also don't want to put your electronics board in a heated environment. So there is a trade-off in there. But these days electronics and power supplies are safe, so keep them outside I say. Also having a tight sealed enclosure is not a good thing unless you are 3d printing with abs.

Up to this point I talked about improvements needed and some defects/missing points. How about advantages? Well of course this product is cheap around $50 that is great. It will definitely help us to 3D print ABS better by stabilizing the temperature in the environment and avoid the layer cracks. Another point is fumes. It will definitely trap the fumes inside so if you are 3D printing in a room, this will protect the air quality.
