I am always astounded by the lengths car enthusiasts go to to create their perfect set of wheels. This stunning 1977 Toyota Celica is the sum of no less than eight individual cars, all bought and sold with the best parts being used to create one perfect example. Cars sourced all over Australia - some running - some not - but then on-sold to help fund the project. From those eight cars we are left with one very original looking and now highly collectable Celica. Sitting behind the wheel you feel you are in a time capsule - AM radio, vinyl seats, Aunger rear louvre. And by selling each of the "donor" cars along the way, this now rare Celica owes Daniel nothing - it has paid for itself (well, if you exclude all the time and effort in sourcing the cars, driving over the countryside to collect them, strip them of their best parts, and then rebuild this beauty). A labour of love - but when you are up close and personal you realise it was worth all the effort. I cannot wait for Daniel to get this car on the road and re-visit his beautiful "estate" - in the hopes I can do a "behind the wheel" interview as we take it for a spin.
