Gigi praised Marc Marquez's genius despite his fall from the top of the Americas MotoGP leaderboard.

Pecco Bagnaia's completely bland 2024 Grand Prix of the Americas weekend left him gazing at the Ghost of Season Past at a track where he had a distinct performance advantage over everyone else the year before.

After the first quarter of the 2022 season, Bagnaia was ranked 10th in the standings with an average of just over six points per race. Going into the season, he was a strong contender for the championship, but he had endured a very difficult pre-season with Ducati, which included the (correct in hindsight) decision to forgo the newest engine specification.
