Idlewild Park and Soak Zone in Ligonier, Pennsylvania is a small, quaint amusement park that holds a very special place in my heart.

Growing up, we used to go to Idlewild every single summer and I have so many memories of being there with my family - riding the train and looking for deer, eating fresh cut french fries smothered in cheese in Hootin' Holler, and riding the Wild Mouse with my Dad.

Being able to take my kids back to experience this beautiful, quiet amusement park was a huge highlight of the summer for me. We met Daniel Tiger, swam in the Soak Zone, braved the Wild Mouse (which was actually open!?), and loved running around in Jumpin' Jungle.

Idlewild might not be a "thrill" capital, but it makes up for what it lacks in thrill rides with it's character, it's beauty, and it's invitation to slow down and have a wonderful day centered around family.
