Stand by for a livestream, or maybe not. Tech not playing in South Africa yet again. A delightful 24 hours without power.

Aerovolt is hosting a press launch with our partners Allye @ Dunkeswell Aerodrome (Nr, Honiton, Devon). To officially launch the Aerovolt Charging Network to the Aviation Community, and to celebrate Aerovolt being added to the Octopus Electroverse App. This event is being supported by Porsche UK also.

With the network going fully live to the public, pilots will now be able to book an Electric Aircraft for personal use and for Flight training. Enabling flights airfield to airfield, tap to charge and carry on your flight journey, as simple as charging any other EV. This is a service which is not available anywhere else globally and a major step for the UK to be leading the way in sustainable aviation. Aerovolt currently has 6 sites installed with another 20 confirmed and currently engaging with an additional 40 sites.

This site has also deployed the very latest from energy storage pioneers Allye. Due to the limited grid supply Allye have installed their huge 320kw ‘Max’ battery built from recycled Tesla Model 3 batteries. Future-proofing the airfield and allowing for further upgrades to faster chargers along with direct solar integration. This is the first airfield in the world to deploy permanent energy storage for electric aircraft charging.
