The Volvo V40 Cross Country is a raised-up, off-road-biased version of Volvo's family hatchback, available with a choice of several petrol or diesel engines. Although the Cross Country looks quite rugged, four-wheel drive is only available with the most expensive petrol engine, so it's not a true off-roader and still more suited to the school run or supermarket car park than exploring the forest. So is it worth the extra over the standard V40?
