The Dalhousie Faculty of Architecture and Planning, in collaboration with The Clean Foundation and The HalifACT Team, hosted a Climate Engagement Series that brought together experts, industry professionals, and interested members of the public to discuss ways to build climate-responsive communities while decarbonizing the economy. Each session asked participants to consider how we live, work, play, learn, and move in our communities. Topics addressed included: ways to lower our carbon footprint, create preparedness for clean energy solutions, lead active transportation initiatives, guide coastal adaptation, and protect our natural resources.

Session three, Climate and the Built Environment - Planning a Net Zero and Climate Resilient Future, examined net zero buildings and infrastructure retrofits and how creative and collaborative solutions are needed to mitigate the impacts of climate change while ensuring resilient infrastructure able to withstand uncertain climate conditions.
