The Porsche 718 Spyder RS is undoubtedly one of the most thrilling open air sports cars on sale today. Loud, fast and damn near as sharp as the track-focused Cayman GT4 RS, it’s a fitting send-off for the Boxster name. However, Ariel reckons its latest 4R missile is even more extreme – and without any windows, doors or a windscreen (plus the small matter of 400bhp with a 700kg kerb weight) it’s hard to disagree. CAR magazine’s James Dennison heads to South Wales in December to give both a thorough winter test.
