It’s not illegal!” Dr. Jibran Khokhar (Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at the University of Guelph) explains that #marijuana is no different from #alcohol or tobacco, which are legal but still harmful and impermissible for use by Muslims since they impair the mind. He explains that #cannabis has significant effects and long-term changes on the brain. He cautions that something impermissible can become permissible in certain cases, and CBD could be deemed permissible for a person if it is proven to have a real health benefit, but this would have to be discussed with a medical professional who understands the person’s medical case.
