Katie, a Jewish PhD scholar with a Zionist upbringing and familial ties to Israel, shares her nuanced perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict after extensive research. Despite her desire for goodness from Israel, her academic studies led her to question the pro-Israel narrative she had been exposed to. She took multiple college courses on the topic and became pro-Palestinian, viewing the conflict less as a complicated issue and more as an instance of genocide.
Katie believes that Britain and the US, exploiting opportunities to utilize Palestinian land and resources, misrepresented the land grant to Jews, who were then expected to defend it militarily and manufacture war machinery, resulting in the violent displacement of the Palestinian population. She views Israeli policies, such as collective punishment and land confiscation, as genocidal and designed to exhaust and demoralize the Palestinian population. These policies enrich the primary stakeholders, rather than benefiting the Palestinian people themselves
