Some design priorities are incompatible. Great on-road handling and impeccable off-road manners are usually mutually exclusive but Jeep did their best with the Cherokee. For 2020 there is seemingly a Cherokee for everyone, from inexpensive FWD options with low ground clearance to the Trailhawk model which is arguably one of the most capable crossovers ever built and one of a few few that can feature a locking differential and 2-speed transfer case. The trouble is: for some folks out there, the off-road mission can conflict with daily driving realities.
