Our first episode of book discussions and we are discussing Expecting Better by Emily Oster.

In today's episode we discuss why we recommend Expecting Better to many people as a starting point during preconception or pregnancy.
We discuss the main take aways - such as moving away from fear based decision making in pregnancy, moving away from fear of real food in pregnancy, questioning black and white rules and applying them to your individual context and we also discuss specifics from the book and our opinion on them - such as deli meats during pregnancy, runny egg yolk during pregnancy and if there is harm in cutting out some foods during pregnancy, raw milk during pregnancy, sushi during pregnancy, whether home birth is safe and the myth that women after the age of 35 are all at higher risk during pregnancy.
