The full version of The Love Boat performed by Dionne Warwick and mixed by Cut & Thrust.

If you remember The Love Boat, you will no doubt remember that Jack Jones sang the theme tune for 8 out of the 9 seasons that ran from 1977-1986. For the 9th and final season (in 1986), Dionne Warwick sang the theme tune and, while many say that Jack Jones owned it, Dionne Warwick’s version is, in my view, the best.

While Jack’s version had a polished commercial release on 7 inch single, to my knowledge, Dionne’s version only exists as part of the opening titles of the 9th season and, due to this rarity, was therefore a candidate for a Cut & Thrust remix!

In case you didn’t know, The Love Boat was an American romantic comedy/drama television series set on board the MS Pacific Princess cruise ship and made by producer Aaron Spelling - whose TV shows included Charlie’s Angels, Hart to Hart, Dynasty, Starsky & Hutch, Fantasy Island and many more.

For this remix, I have used the opening title theme tune and the instrumental music used for the end credits - both from season 9. The lyrics were written by Paul Williams with music by Charles Fox.
