Muslims make up 1.8 billion of the humans on the planet - over a quarter of them are followers of the Hanafi Madhab. Founded by the great Imam of the Salaf, Abu Hanifah, it became the official school of the Abbasids, the Ottomans and the Mughals, and contained many of the greatest minds the Muslims ever produced. The Hanafi School still plays a gigantic role in multiple avenues of Islam today, including Islamic Finance and the fact that Muslim in India, Pakistan, Turkey and the Balkans all follow it.

Dr Salah Abul Hajj was born in Amman, Jordan. He initially began his studies in Jordan before moving to Iraq complete postgraduate studies in Islamic Law. He completed his PhD in Iraq, where he also studied with many of the country's leading scholars, including: Shaykh Bakr al-Mawṣili, Shaykh Qasim al-Ṭa’ī, Shaykh Sajid Abdul Qadir, Shaykh Mawlud al-Turki, Shaykh Muhammad Ramaḍan al-Kurdi and Shaykh Abdul-Malik al-Saʿdi.

His writings and teachings carry great traction in the Muslim world and he has published many books on Hanafi Fiqh that are treasured by scholars globally. His West-based students include: Shaykh Dr Sohail Hanif, Shaykh Siddiq Mitha, Shaykh Faraz Khan, Shaykh Salman Younas and Shaykh Dr Sulayman van Ael.
