Mazda said years ago they were moving up-market, yet they continue to push value as one of the main reasons to consider their CUVs and SUVs. Is that a flaw when the value portion of the equation impacts a core Mazda value like handling? The CX-50 is a solid example of this internal conflict. They finally gave it wider tires, but the lack of an independent rear suspension really prevents serious drivers from cross-shopping it with Acura or Lincoln. That said... There's a lot to love about the 2.5L turbo model and I'd probably buy it before I bought a Lexus NX...
