How to Install & Set up a Window AC Unit for Maximum Energy Efficiency / Performance and Stability.
Window Air Conditioning Units are popular, affordable and an energy efficient way to cool a room in your house or your entire home.
My central air-conditioning unit stopped working. I ran a bunch of tests and discovered that it was low on Freon / Refrigerant. It is an older unit that uses R22 which is hard to find and get service for. Contractors wanted over $10,000 to replace the unit and I decided I would need to think on that. In the mean time I installed a window air conditioning unit in hopes that it would make my home livable in 90 degree plus weather. It has been a couple months since I installed the window AC unit and I am pleasantly surprised to report that it has been very comfortable in the house during the day and sleeping at night.
In this video I will show you How I installed the window air conditioning unit for maximum cooling. I also have vinyl windows and the weight of the AC unit was an issue at install. I came up with a very simple solution to ensure the the unit was securely installed.
