What is gyroscopic precession and how does it affect flying a Tailwheel aircraft?

In this video I chat through some of the effects that gyroscopic precession has on a tailwheel aeroplane during takeoff and landing!

Particularly during a short field takeoff, gyroscopic precession can pose us some issues and can be one of the factors causing a tailwheel to ground loop.

A groundloop occurs when the tail starts to overtake the nose of an aeroplane during takeoff or landing.
