Friends is nothing short of one of the most enduring television shows in the history of the medium. Millions of people from all over the world and across generations all love and appreciate the exploits of this whacky group of friends. The most memorable of all of these misadventures was, of course, the ongoing ‘will they, won’t they, nature of Ross and Rachel’s relationship.

For just about the entirety of the show, these two characters switched between despising and loving one another, with the two rarely sharing the same feeling at the same time. This eventually lead to the uttering of the iconic line, “We were on a break,” which Ross shouts anytime someone accuses him of being a bad or unfaithful boyfriend.
