In the summer of 2016, we attempted to make a short film called PHOENICOPTERUS: The Pink Menace.

An homage to films like Night of the Living Dead as well as B-Movies from the 50's, the story was about two siblings, Karen and Thomas, who spend the weekend at their older cousin Michaels house. After Michaels assistant is found dead in the yard, it is discovered that the house is under attack from a hoard of evil killer yard flamingos.

The plan was to film the entire script in one day and night. Film all the interior stuff in the day and all the night time exteriors once the sun went down.

This did not go as planned and a number of key scenes were not filmed and there was no time for the cast to get together. By the time the school year started it became too cold and everyone had gotten haircuts and other changes so finishing ended up being impossible. There were also camera issues that compressed the nighttime footage and did not make it match from shot to shot.

When I got a new laptop, I thought that the footage was lost on my old one. However, come to find out, everything that was filmed that day was still on the laptop.

This is the only scene that could be edited with the available footage.
