One of the most popular full-size luxury SUVs over the past few years is the Cadillac Escalade. Over the years, people have fallen in love with it and everything it has to offer. The highlight of the Cadillac lineup is the 2023 Escalade. But now, the 2024 Escalade is just around the corner. And even though it is not that far off, we have received some details about the changes that the Escalade will undergo for the upcoming refreshed model.
One of the best features of the 2024 Escalade is the infotainment system. The Cadillac Escalade has been the preferred mode of transport for wealthy parents and rappers. And for that, GM has to ensure that it gives them their money’s worth or risk losing them. So, according to GM Authority, the facelifted SUV will come with a full-width infotainment screen. The first time this was seen on a Cadillac was in the Celestiq, which is the brand’s ultra-exclusive $300,000 electric sedan.
However, using a screen that has been inspired by the Celestiq will give the Escalade the upper hand because it will give it a more premium feel inside. Apart from that, we can expect a revised fascia, a restyled center console, and maybe plusher materials.
Even though there is no way of confirming this at all, we can assume that these potential new 24-inch alloy wheels would not be standard. However, if they were to be offered as standard, they would probably be for the 2024 Cadillac Escalade V. Recent spy photos showed the wheels of the new Escalade in camouflage. But even though they were covered, we can tell they will have a seven-spoke design. Nonetheless, there might be other wheel design options for the full-size luxury SUV.
When it comes to performance, we don’t really expect the 2024 Escalade to have that much of a change. Even before any upgrades, the Cadillac Escalade, specifically the Cadillac Escalade V, is already the most powerful full-size SUV. This means that the automaker doesn’t really need to rush to change the powertrain and add more powerful engines. They should give the others a chance to catch up before they add to the power.
When we look at the wheels, we can see some features that are straight from the Celestiq. However, that is not the only part, and we will look at that later. For now, the wheels look a lot like the ones found on the Celestiq, but these ones have a major change. The 2024 Escalade IQ’s wheels are large 24-inch rollers with a set of Michelin Primary tires in 275/50R24. This is larger than those on the Celestiq, which are 23 inches in diameter. In addition, you can also decide to buy 24-inch wheels on the ICE version of the Escalade, but the IQ EV will use eight-lug wheels rather than the six-lug that are found on the gas-powered SUV. This will be in line with the other truck-ish EVs that GM has built on the BT1 architecture, such as the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, and GMC Hummer EV.
There is so much we can expect from the 2024 Cadillac Escalade, given its reputation. Will it be better? Only time will tell.
