Prices are inflated because dealer lots are sitting empty. New car orders are being pushed back due to the chip shortage caused by covid. So everyone is turning to the used car market. Which is causing used car prices to sky rocket.

This is why it's such a good time to sell your car. IF you can find a good deal on something else first.

2-Outlook on the used and new car market.

I think what goes up must come down. The stock market, housing market and even car market are very inflated. At some point we have to see prices come down and stabilize.

I think that will happen when unemployment slows and housing rates go up towards the end of this year.

3- Pro tips for buying and selling a car in this market.

If you have a car you've been thinking about selling, now is the time to sell. But if it's your only car, you have to do some extra work. Talk to some dealerships, see what they would give you if you sold them your car. Then go on craigslist and see what people are selling comparables to your car for. This way you have an idea of what you'll get for your old car.

Now go and look for a new car. Check a few out in person and when the perfect one comes up, go after it. Make sure its clean and not too overpriced.

Now that you've secured your new car, go talk to those same dealerships or go on craigslist and sell your old car.
