The 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe joins a growing category of confoundingly named coupe SUVs. Where the GV80 coupe differs from some of its weirdly named coupe brethren is in the overall execution of the design, both inside and out. Whereas the BMW X6 and even sadder looking BMW X4 looks like the cynical marketing exercises they are, and the Mercedes GLE and GLC somehow appear enormous despite their fastback styling, the 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe looks elegant and svelte, closer in proportion to the Porsche Cayenne than the aforementioned Germans. The Genesis GV80 Coupe somehow applies the coupe treatment to the already handsome Genesis GV80 SUV in a way that makes it look at once familiar as a Genesis model but also somehow different and unique. Only Audi seems to have successfully pulled off this formula as well as Genesis has here with the GV80, but in typical Genesis fashion the GV80 coupe is packed with standard luxury features, a gorgeous and sumptuous interior, and a super cool electrified and supercharged twin turbo V6. If Genesis is able to build out its dealer network and offer the type of unparalleled luxury experience that buyers demand, especially at these prices, the Germans had better watch their backs. Genesis has the design, and they certainly have the value, now all they need to make the 2025 Genesis GV80 Coupe a success is a dealer network experience to rival Lexus. If Genesis is somehow able to electrify this stunning GV80 Coupe in a more usable and effective way than Audi has it's e-tron lineup, they could shake up the luxury establishment.
