But, finally, it seems that Tesla has a credible competitor in the form of William Li’s NIO. Founded in 2014 NIO has established itself as one of the fastest-growing electric vehicles companies in China. It has a great product lineup in the form of NIO ES8, NIO ES6, and NIO EC6. In addition, the company has global ambitions and is backed by some of China’s biggest tech entrepreneurs. These things make NIO a credible threat for Tesla. Now the question is how will this NIO vs. Does the Tesla rivalry play out?

Well, unlike other companies this Tesla rival has some major advantages over Tesla such as better vehicles in some ways, excellent team, and great customer service. But at the same time, Tesla itself is a very smart company that is way ahead in terms of numbers. Although NIO has made some sales, its real test will be in the coming years and it will be interesting to see how NIO cars and NIO SUVs perform against Tesla vehicles. For now, NIO has emerged as a credible threat to Tesla, and thanks to increases in its vehicle sales during the past three quarters; we have seen a rise in the NIO stock price.
