shares the story of a police officer who experienced three young men in their death throes and how the experiences brought him to God and to become a more observant Muslim.
This clip is from a Friday sermon called "It Doesn't Matter Where You Begin Life, It's Where You Are When It Ends:" • It Does Not Matter Where You Begin, I...
The moral of Imam Dawood's anecdote is to impart that however a person lives his or her that we will die in that state. With this, he confronts the fallacy that we can say "La illaha illallah" before death - no matter how we lived.
Allah does not allow our tongues to say "La illaha illallah" at death unless there is "La illaha illallah" in the heart. Unless we put God first in our lives, we won't be able to put God first in our death.
