Kapu Tairāwhiti is back for 2024 and today a year on from Cyclone Gabrielle, the Gisborne District Council recently hosted the Tairāwhiti Superhero Awards which recognised individuals and organisations who went above and beyond to support their communities during the cyclone and its devastating aftermath. Mātai and Rāhia were there to emcee the event and also catch up with some of the recipients.
