The UP Squared board is a mini PC that comes with 40 GPIO pins (just like the Raspberry Pi) that can be used from Windows. If you are a familiar with Visual Studio etc then you can now write programs which control and monitor hardware, without needing to learn Linux. PS. It supports Linux as well!
