Robert E. Lee surrenders on 9 April 1865 and President Lincoln plans Reconstruction with his Cabinet. Lincoln and Mary spend the afternoon of 14 April 1865 planning the future and an evening's entertainment at Ford's Theater.

6. The Unwilling Warrior

This episode spans The Civil War from early 1861 through the fall of Richmond in early April, 1865.
