Subaru is a brand that is well known for its performance and reliability. These cars always have something unique to offer. This is why, even as cars are being upgraded and made better, they are not being left behind. The Subaru Crosstrek is a fantastic car in its own right, which is why when the next model is released, everyone is eager to see what has been improved. Even though it has confused many as to whether it is an SUV or a regular car, it is still a fan favorite. But what is it about this car that people love so much? And what’s new with the 2023 model?
Hello everyone, and welcome back to our channel. Today, we will look at the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek and find out what is so amazing about this car. The 2022 North American International Auto Show is already in full swing. However, this is the time that Subaru decided to officially announce the new Crosstrek back at their home in Japan rather than in Motor City. By the time it was getting to its third generation, the small crossover had already lost its "XV" moniker that was used in certain markets. This simply means that it is now known as the "Crosstrek" all over the world. Even though it still has the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), it has been improved in several ways to make the ride more comfortable.
Even though it looks as though it is trail-ready with its rigged styling and meaty tires, make sure you are not fooled by the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek’s appearance. This is just a car that is playing the part of an SUV. However, it will no longer be competing with the Jeep Wranglers and the Ford Broncos when it comes to going off-road. Nonetheless, there is an upside, which is that the car is more comfortable and carlike on the road than those that are dedicated to going through the dirt.
The Crosstrek is based on the Impreza hatchback, and just like all other Subarus apart from the BRZ sports car, it comes with standard all-wheel-drive. This car has a lot to offer, and it is all amazing. It will give you an experience unlike any other.
For the 2023 model of the car, Subaru introduced a Special Edition model. This model is based on the Premium trim, and it comes exclusively with Desert Khaki, also known as tan, paint, 17-inch wheels, and dark grey exterior trim. As for the interior, the trim comes with two-tone black-and-red upholstery, making it stand out.
Subaru made sure that they made it up for this in handling, which they have done exceptionally well. The Crosstrek’s handling is quite car-like, and this is all thanks to the well-weighted steering and a composed ride. The suspension is quite firm but not too harsh. It does an outstanding job of soaking up the larger bumps without drama.
Something great about the Crosstrek is the fuel efficiency. This is among the most fuel-efficient subcompact crossovers ever. The Crosstrek’s 2.0-liter engine and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) may sometimes be lethargic, but they are very easy when it comes to fuel.
In typical Subaru fashion, the Crosstrek features a basic yet very durable-feeling interior that prioritizes function over form.
When you flip the Crosstrek’s 60/40 split-folding rear seat down, it expands the cargo hold even more. However, you will not get a very flat surface because the folded seats are somewhat raised. When the Subaru Crosstrek is compared to the Nissan Rogue Sport, the Nissan holds more stuff even though it has smaller exterior dimensions. This has been tested with suitcases, and the Crosstrek managed to hold 19 carry-on suitcases when the rear seats are folded all the way.
Subaru has made sure that the Crosstrek is as safe as it can be by adding a bunch of driver-assistance features.
The Sport model has a lot of enhanced features. We are talking about unique 17-inch wheels, yellow stitched upholstery, faux-carbon fiber trim, and advanced driving modes. These features are all amazing, but we can say that the more powerful 2.5-liter engine is what makes this car worthy of the upcharge. Just like other Subaru sedans and SUVs, all-wheel-drive is standard on the Crosstrek.
