Recently, PGA Tour winner Cam Davis returned to his home golf course, Monash Country Club for a special initiative organized by golf commentator and former tour professional Ewan Porter. The initiative aimed to provide a unique opportunity for two lucky kids from the Adidas Junior 6s Golf Tour, to play alongside one of the top PGA Tour professionals.

Fans were excited to see Davis in action on his home course, where he developed his skills as a young golfer. Watch slow-motion video of Davis' swing, which was analyzed by our Golf Whisperer, Glen Haynes. Glen was extremely impressed with what he saw, praising Davis' swing as smooth and consistent, with great tempo and balance. He also highlighted Davis' ability to generate a lot of power and control with minimal effort.

The kids who were chosen for the opportunity had a great time playing alongside a Tour winner and getting tips and guidance from him. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for them and a wonderful opportunity for golf enthusiasts to see a top professional in action on his home course. The event was a great success and we look forward to more such initiatives in the future.

Skill Development vs Technical Changes

Although technique is an important factor in improving a golfer’s performance, Skill Development is largely neglected in golf coaching today. Skill is something that can be tangibly improved with proper understanding of the golf impact laws and effective practice towards improved performance.

External Focus of Attention

Most golf teaching involves an internal focus. Common suggestions might include increased hip turn, a still head or improved hand path. These are all factors of the golf swing, which many golfers and teachers consider important. However, as they are focused internally, on movements of the body, golfers find changes extremely difficult to process.
