In 2021 the Jaguar F-Pace was in need of a major overhaul. Most of the exterior changes were concentrated on the front of the car , where a new more sporty grille and a much more defined bonnet with ultra slim headlights, inspired by the all-electric Jaguar I-Pace, have been introduced. There are also a new set of rear lights. Otherwise, Jaguar wisely decided not to fiddle too much with the SUV's already attractive proportions, as the saying goes,''If it aint broken, dont try and fix it".
There are however much bigger changes inside, where the infotainment setup, steering wheel and controls have all been updated. The old InControl system was replaced with Pivi Pro, which features a responsive and attractive glass 11.4-inch central display, making it one of the best systems on the market. Much of the tech found in the Jaguar F-Pace is shared with the Jaguar XE and Jaguar XF saloons. The extensive engine line-up includes a 2.0-litre petrol providing 247bhp and a 161 or 201bhp diesel of the same size. There's also a 3.0-litre diesel or petrol and a flagship SVR version with a 542bhp 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine. Alternatively, eco-conscious and business drivers may prefer the P400e plug-in hybrid which offers up to 33 miles of battery power.
For a car of its weight and size, both diesel engine offer very reasonable fuel economy. The entry-level 161bhp 2.0-litre F-Pace and the 201bhp version of the same engine both get mild-hybrid assistance, managing up to 45.4mpg, we even managed 53mpg on our eco test. Once inside the Jaguar F-Pace you get a comfortable luxurious interior. Standard leather, together with Jaguar’s latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, makes this a throughly modern, premium SUV. Trim levels include S, SE, HSE, all of which are also available in R-Dynamic guise. There's also an ‘entry-level’ version simply called 'F-Pace', but only comes with the D165 diesel engine. The standard spec is well-equipped, including 19-inch alloys, cruise control, a 3D surround camera, an 11.4-inch touchscreen and LED front and rear lights. S also gets leather electric front seats, with a different wheel and seat design when R-Dynamic is chosen.Jaguar provides a three-year warranty for the F-Pace, which you can extend for an additional cost. If you're planning to keep hold of your car for a few years, buying an extended warranty could be a good move.
