Accelerometers and gyroscopes are found in nearly every phone nowadays and many other devices in the consumer, automotive, aerospace, and medical industries. However, just because they're found in the pocket of nearly everyone doesn't mean that everyone knows how they work. Let's fix that by using a little animation to review the basic structure of an accelerometer (whose principles apply also to a gyroscope), how that structure creates useful information, and how that information is shared in a way that we can interpret it. We hope you find this as interesting as we do!
