I hope everyone had a good week. Last week I talked about how I really liked this engine option and I wanted to truly test out this truck for its fuel economy.

The first thing that helps this engine with economy is the cam phasers advancing the engine timing. this help the engine burn less fuel and become more efficient.

the second thing that helps this 5L become efficient is the cylinder-deactivation which I explained and am not a fan of.

the third thing that really helps this engine is the smaller size. less displacement means less air to be met with fuel and that is critical for fuel economy.

lastly is the driveline. this truck comes with a 10 speed and 3.31 gears all of which are highly advantageous for fuel economy.
