The S6 is equipped with a 480 ml dustbin, a washable HEPA filter, and a cleaning tool hidden under the lid. The redesigned charging dock allows adjusting a charging cable behind. The robot is equipped with 14 sensors.

The new central cleaning brush has detachable parts which makes cleaning the brush easier especially when it comes to untangling hair. The side brush is made of rubber.
The LDS laser inside the "tower" scans the surroundings to create a plan of a house. The Roborock S6 has the same 2,000 Pa suction power as the previous model S5. After the robot finishes first cleaning cycle, it automatically divides the map into rooms that you can edit in the app whenever you want to.
The Mi Home/Roborock app allows creating virtual barriers and set block off zones. When the robot is working, you can track its movements in real-time.

For the first test on laminate, we used oats, rice, and Nesquik cereals; the S6 did a great job there picking up every little piece of "debris."

On the highest power settings - Turbo mode we measured the noise level which was around 53 dB which is pretty quiet compared to the Roborock S5.

In the app, you can divide rooms saying if you want the living room and the corridor to be separated like in our case. Or you can merge zones.
There are 4 suction modes: eco, balanced, turbo, and MAX. And there is one mode for mopping.
If you don't want the robot to go to certain areas as we did in the first test, set no-go zones or barrier tape. There is also zoned cleaning if you want the robot to clean a certain place, not the whole room.

On carpet, we used oats, rice, Nesquik cereals, cereals, and salted breadsticks. We set zoned cleaning, and the Roborock cleaned everything during the first cleaning cycle (in the app, you can set up to 3 cleaning cycles). The Roborock S6 has no issues with picking up hair on bare and carpet flooring and with the detachable parts the new brush is easy to clean from hair.

The new cool feature the Roborock S6 has - scheduling by room. Set time you want the robot to work at, choose how often it should repeat the cycle, set the cleaning mode, and pick the room or a few where you want the robot to work.

On the third test, we used oats, rice, pieces of paper, dust, flax flour, and beans. The robot picks up big particles such as cereals and the smallest ones like flour and sugar. We let the robot run in eco mode and the performance on the lowest power settings was about the same as on the high power settings. It took one cleaning cycle and about 4 minutes to finish the cleaning. In average, the Roborock cleans one square meter per minute.

There is a significant improvement in the mopping function. The water tank has a switch that changes the water supply speed. The robot does a great job on the floor. You can see the floor is getting wet after the robot cleaning around. As we noticed, the wipes are more suitable for everyday cleaning, and the fiber cloths are perfect for one-two times a week mopping. We made a "stubborn" stain with Coca-Cola and cocoa, and the Roborock S6 was able to remove it by softening the stain with a larger amount of water.

In the latest test, we wanted to show how the S6 handles obstacles. Even with thin chromium chair legs, it didn't have any issues and barely touched the legs. We used oats and flax flour. The vacuum did not leave anything not around the legs, nor in the corners. It also took one cleaning cycle to pick up every particular.
As the manufacturer claims, the S6 has a 20 mm climbing ability; it had no issues with crossing our "obstacle" - the plank.

The Roborock S6 spent 41 minutes cleaning 43 square meters of living area.
