Recipe: Creamy Crispy Smashed New Potatoes

Ingredients:

8 oz package of new potatoes (red or other preferred variety)
1.5 tablespoons salt (for boiling)
Butter (for smashing and roasting)
Salt (to taste)
Black pepper (to taste)
Garlic (optional, minced)
Instructions:

Boil the new potatoes in salted water for approximately 20 minutes or until fork-tender.
Drain the potatoes and let them sit on a tray to steam and dry off.
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Smash each potato with a flat surface, spreading them out for more surface area.
Melt butter and brush it over the smashed potatoes.
Sprinkle with salt and black pepper to taste.
Optional: Add minced garlic for extra flavor.
Place the potatoes in the preheated oven and roast for about 30 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
Serve hot and enjoy the buttery, crispy goodness!
