We invited Dr. Lisa Goldman Rosas, PhD, MPH, Dr. Patricia Rodriguez Espinosa, PhD, MPH, and Katherine Connors, MPH, to jointly provide you with an overview of the basics of community engagement in clinical research including the goals, benefits and challenges of community engagement as well as how to get started building a community engagement plan.

At the conclusion of this class, you will be able to:
- List 2-3 principles of engagement and discuss how they can be applied across the translational research spectrum
- Describe at least three challenges and three advantages of community-engaged research relative to traditional biomedical models of research
- Compare and contrast community-engaged research with traditional biomedical models of research
- Craft a plan for integrating community engagement in your research
- List 2-3 Stanford resources for increased community engagement and research participation
