Reviews:
"This was a fun one and quite a wild ride!

The first thing worth mentioning is that this thing burns through plot at a break neck pace. Nowadays you would probably tell this story in a couple seasons of a television program as there is just too much for a single film, but here they just charge ahead, tearing through "Seven Samurai" set ups in under 5 minutes to get to the next beat .

It's almost hilarious how dense this thing is. Most of that is accomplished with super efficient story telling and narration to bridge the gaps when that isn't enough. I'm not even sure I could do a concise summary, but it's something like: an American sailor, injured by pirates and left to heal in rural Australia, falls in love with a woman who is later kidnapped, and when he attempts to rescue her, they (and her fiancé and a few others) end up on an island populated by dinosaurs.

The second thing worth mentioning is that the production values on this movie are out of control. IMDB says it was an independent production and I have to say I'm not too sure how a lot of this was accomplished. A good portion of it is stock footage mixed in from other films, but this is the kind of movie where canon balls striking ship bows look real, and so it has this weird and fun combination of trashy adventure writing and really well realized effects all over the place. I got sucked in anyway as I was just expecting barely realized Z movie quality stuff.

The dinosaurs are miniature shots of crocodiles and lizards, sometimes with extra bits glued on to them, so they move quickly and are quite intense, fighting to the death in at least one scene, although I imagine more than one was seriously hurt.

I had a lot of fun with this romance/western/sci-fi mash-up."
