*** IMPORTANT: New high quality footage with the lights on from ATIS's opening has recently surfaced. It gives a nearly complete ride thru of the ride in its prime. It can be found here:    • Adventure Thru Inner Space - Ride Hig...

The quality of this video is terrible. If you've never been on the ride and want to know what the ride was like, I suggest looking at the incredible CG virtual ridethru created by Steve Wesson. His website is at:
http://themightymicroscope.com/ .

People wanted to see the footage from the Extinct Attractions Club DVD, so I went ahead and posted it. Supposedly, this home movie was taken in 1985 by an Imagineer on the last day of the ride (I doubt it was an Imagineer - EDIT: I've been corrected by the editor of the original DVD the clip came from, Dave O'Neal, that the story is correct). By then, the ride had become neglected and dilapidated, since it would soon be torn down. For example, there were large rips in the ride's projection screens.

Unfortunately the video quality is very bad. The entering and exiting queue are in good quality, but the inside of the ride is very dark, so for most people it will be a total wall of darkness. The only moderately clear things made out are some of the snowflakes, the pulsing atomic nucleus, and the eye. You might make out a little of the projection of the snowflake melting if you squint real hard. Also, for some reason, an MP3 of the ride's narration was placed over the original home video's track. If you listen closely, you can hear the original track. The MP3 syncs horribly to the actual ride. A large chunk of the narration was even cut out, meaning the editor probably didn't know what was going on in the video himself.

Some things to look out for:

4:02 Snowflake scene, a snowflake is visible.

6:42 Pulsing atomic nucleus

7:37 You are now back on visual

8:07 Exit and oil fountain

Will a full, clear ridethru show up one day? I doubt it. However, more of the color clips with the lights on have surfaced, and they've been edited together by the Disney History Institute. It shows almost all the main parts of the ride, including the arch of trailing electrons the atom-mobiles travel through. The new footage also shows part of the old post show. I'll keep this video up to inform people about the bad quality of the Disney Extinct Attractions Club DVD. It can also show what the exiting queue of the ride looked like after Monsanto left.
