$75K, No Trades, Located Daphne, AL 36527 850-261-2471. Selling a 1969 Dodge Charger 383ci. The car has been in a garage and under car cover since restoration. My goal is to be as transparent as possible, hence why you will find over 250 pictures and a 15+ minute video in the links below.

I understand this type of car is likely to be purchased across country or possibly exported and am willing to accommodate inspections or carrier arrangements.

The car was a General Lee tribute car where the previous owner purchased it and commissioned a shop in FL to do a restoration. The vehicle was not media blasted, but the condition was good enough to seal and paint. The topside floors have a textured coating with color while the underside has a black textured coating. The color is NOT a General Lee orange but is a custom-mixed metallic orange pearl color. It is hard to capture the color just right, but it is stunning when light hits it.

I have not been able to find the partial vin on the core support and there is a partial (hard to read) vin on the trunk gutter pictured during the restoration. I believe the owner said the 383 block is original, but I have not confirmed.

The paint is in very nice condition. The clear is very smooth, no orange peel, but has a couple of minor imperfections. In the video I point at a couple of spots where the paint is raised. It does not appear to be rust and is hard to the touch. There are a couple of small paint chips on the RH fender and a couple of almost impossible to find dings in the RH quarter that I highlight in the video. The undercoating has a couple of scuffs through the black undercoating that I have not attempted to touch up.

The 383 engine has a mild cam and is backed by a three-speed automatic. I have not found that right amount of prime to start with first spin, but the Optima battery keeps plenty of life for my short comings. The engine has headers and unfortunately the passenger side has scuffed the inner apron. A lot of the components under the hood are new or close to new. I do not have a detailed list of what new parts were replaced, but you can tell by the pictures pretty much everything is new.

The wheels are staggered American Legends Sprinter 18x7 & 18x8 wheels with matching Bridgestone Driveguard 235/50R18 tires that are very deep in tread. I don’t think there is one mark on the wheels since being installed. For what its worth, the LR is the only studs that are reverse thread. The grill is in amazing shape and bumpers are bright new chrome. The stainless steel trim has some minor scuffs and dings and possibly original to the car.

There are a couple of updated upgrades like electric headlight motors and LED converted taillights. Things like the turn signals, headlights, highbeams, flashers, running lights work as they should. Not an A/C car, but the cowl vents and electric blower motor work as they should. I decided to remove the center blower box pipe meant for defrost in order to blow more air into the driver’s compartment for those warmer days.

The interior is practically new. The dash, door panels, carpet, seats etc are all in very nice shape. The carpet has some minor fraying on the driver’s side, but the rest looks new. The seats are 68' Charger and not period correct 69', to each their own. The backseat has impressions slowly lifting out on the driver’s side from where I had my son’s toddler seat rigged for going to car shows. The cluster does not have a working tach or speedo (told the cable was not hooked back up & have not investigated).

This has been my dream car since I was a young boy watching the Dukes of Hazzard, but has been more of a bucket list event for myself. I’ve gotten to enjoy owning a restored version of the Charger and had more fun taking pictures for this ad than all of my time owning it. It rides great for a 50+ year old car, almost like a floating sensation. You can probably tell that I am not trying to sell anyone on the car and am just being upfront about what I see and know. I most likely will kick myself in a couple of months after selling, but here we are today.

Please save offers from when you could “buy them back in the day for…”. Fact is, these cars are hard to find in decent shape and even a roller, plus parts, plus skilled labor are only going up like my grocery bill every week.
