Heidi was born with an extra 18th chromosome, a condition known as Trisomy 18. After she was diagnosed in-utero, her parents were told that she "wouldn't be very human-like". They decided to just love Heidi unconditionally. Heidi is now 6 years old and her family is proud of everything she does, like using sign language to communicate.
