Abby Cadabby
Daughter of the Fairy Godmother, Abby Cadabby is a lively 3-year-old fairy-in-training.

Abby moved to Sesame Street from Fairyside, Queens and loves learning new things with her friends. She is still figuring out how to use her magic and has a tendency to turn things into pumpkins with her “training wand”. She loves rhyming and fairytales, and you can often hear her saying “That’s so magical!”

Bert and Ernie
Bert is the forever best friend and roommate of Ernie. Ernie is mischievous and loves to play practical jokes on his good buddy, Bert.

Bert

Bert is the forever best friend and roommate of Ernie. He is more serious than Ernie and quite analytical in their escapades together. Bert loves to eat oatmeal, play checkers, and hang out with his pet pigeon, Bernice. He also collects many things such as bottle caps and paper clips.


Ernie

Ernie is mischievous and loves to play practical jokes on his good buddy, Bert. He has a big imagination and is very free-spirited. He is great at explaining things, but he often falls victim to his own jokes. Ernie enjoys singing, playing musical instruments, and most of all, taking baths with his Rubber Duckie.

Big Bird
Big Bird is an 8’2” tall, 6-year-old yellow bird who is best friends with Snuffy.

Big Bird tends to get very excited about new discoveries and is disappointed when things don’t work out, but he is always willing to correct his mistakes and try again.

Cookie Monster
Cookie Monster is a furry, blue, googly-eyed monster who loves to eat cookies!

Although chocolate chip cookies are his favorite food, he will eat anything from carrots to bicycles! His voracious appetite for cookies makes him the perfect character to model healthy habits as he learns about “sometimes food” vs. “anytime food”.

Count von Count
Count von Count bears a comical resemblance to Count Dracula, but that is where the similarity ends.

Count von Count bears a comical resemblance to Count Dracula, but that is where the similarity ends. The Count thirsts for numbers, not necks! He will count anything and everything, especially the bats in his castle. His counting is usually concluded with a flash of lightning and a clap of thunder.

Elmo
Elmo, everybody’s favorite furry red monster, is an enthusiastic 3 ½-year-old!

With his contagious giggle and positive attitude, he learns new things with his friends on Sesame Street. He loves his pet goldfish named Dorothy and his favorite food is wasabi.

Grover
Eager to save the day, he often rushes into situations without analyzing the consequences, which leads to some silly mishaps, but that doesn’t break his spirit! This is especially evident in Grover’s adventurous alter ego, “Super Grover”.

Honker and Dinger
Honker and Dinger are friends that like to hang out.

Honkers

The Honkers are a vibrant group of monsters who honk their noses to communicate! They are all different colors, and they love to honk all day long! They hatch from eggs and hang out with a similar group of monsters called the Dingers.

Dingers

The Dingers are similar to the Honkers except they use bicycle bells on their heads to communicate with one another. The Dingers especially love to hang out with their close musical relatives, the Honkers.

Julia
Julia is a sweet and curious 4-year-old with autism.

The orange-haired girl with twinkling eyes sometimes does things differently, “in a Julia sort of way”, but Elmo and Abby help the other kids on Sesame Street understand that even if Julia doesn’t look you in the eye, it doesn’t mean that she doesn’t want to be your friend. Simply by making Julia “part of the gang,” she is already having a big impact, helping to teach children and families all about acceptance. Julia highlights that while the differences between children with autism and their peers may seem significant, all children have something far more important: unique qualities and talents that make the world a more interesting place!

Murray
Murray is an orange energetic, quick-witted monster who is always looking for the word on the street!

Murray loves finding out the definition of new words and teaching them to others. Murray also enjoys meeting new people with his little lamb, Ovejita.

Oscar the Grouch
Oscar the Grouch is the grouchiest character on Sesame Street!

He lives in a trash can where he loves collecting junk, arguing, rainy days, and anchovy milkshakes. Even though Oscar has a lot of dislikes, he loves his pet worm, Slimey.

Prairie Dawn
Prairie Dawn is a seven-year-old girl with big dreams and a tiny voice.

She is determined and level-headed, and she loves to play the piano at Sesame Street’s Little Theatre.
