Holocene Extinction Episode 4: The Pyrenean Ibex
The Bucardo or formally known as the Pyrenean ibex, was pushed to extinction by trophy hunters who hunted the ibex for their iconic, long, curved horns and the introduction of human livestock, which competed with the ibex for grazing area. Three years after the Ibex went extinct, however, the last individual of the species was resurrected through cloning, making the Pyrenean Ibex the first animal to have been made un-extinct by humans. Shortly after birth unfortunately, the clone died and the Pyrenean ibex became extinct for the second time.
