The Genesis Electrified GV70 follows hot on the wheels of the Genesis Electrified G80, a luxury EV we reviewed earlier this year and fell in love with. Given that the gas-powered Genesis GV70 Sport took home not only one, but FOUR GCCars Awards in 2021, can we expect the EV version of Genesis' compact luxury SUV to be just as excellent?

Just like it's G80 sibling the GV70 is not a purpose-built electric vehicle, but rather an ICE vehicle that was converted into being electric. This usually comes with a few downsides, and in the case of the Genesis GV70 Electric one could say that it's 77.4 kWh battery doesn't quite provide enough range compared to vehicles like the Mercedes EQ's. But range aside, the GV70 offers up to 483 horsepower, a sub 4.0 second 0-60 time and plenty of lavish luxury. Is that enough to justify it's price tag of $84,000.00 CAD here in Canada?
