After the Prophet Moses, the prophets of the Children of Israel followed the Torah in their actions. However, whenever the Jews found a brief opportunity without a prophet among them, they would immediately distort the scripture according to their own desires and whims. Thus, their beliefs and morals would deteriorate; when a new prophet came, things would improve, but then they would again incline towards corruption.

After Talut became ruler, there was a young man of 18 years in his army. His name was David. He and his thirteen brothers had joined Talut's army along with their father. David used to tend sheep. He was very brave and skilled in slinging stones. One day he said to his father, "All the mountains and stones glorify with me!" Upon this, his father said, "O David, glad tidings to you!" David's voice was so loud and beautiful that he was brought before Talut. Talut made him his intimate friend. During this time, David joined the army that Talut prepared against the Amalekite tribe. Allah informed Ismail that David would kill Goliath.

While on the way, three stones spoke and said to David, "Take us, you will kill Goliath with us!" So he took them, and they all turned into a single stone. On the other hand, Talut made a promise, "Whoever kills Goliath, I will marry my daughter to him!" And finally, Talut's 313 remaining faithful soldiers prayed, "Our Lord! Shower us with patience, make our steps firm, and help us against the disbelieving people!" As they faced the enemy.

When the two armies met, Goliath, representing his army, requested for someone to fight with him, and David came forward. Everyone was surprised because Goliath was a large and very strong man. Trusting in his strength, Goliath underestimated David. He asked, "Have you come against me with sticks to fight me like a dog?" David replied, "I have come to fight you!" and Goliath mocked him. David took out his sling and hurled the stone, hitting Goliath right on his forehead, causing him to fall off his horse and die.
