If you want to Step Into Your Power, Convey Confidence, & Lead With Conviction, buy the book Executive Presence https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B8RJ5MZV. It takes a deep dive into what it really is, why you need it, and how to have executive presence.

When delivering a presentation, remember this advice:

- If you’re like most aspiring leaders, you often minimize your own experience. It’s time to stop!
- Your opinions are essential, and others need to hear them.
- Senior leaders want to hear your honest thoughts on topics you know a lot about.

Too many aspiring leaders minimize their own expertise, causing them to easily defer to more experienced people (or others who aren’t actually more experienced). Imposter syndrome can lead to this dilemma. Even though you’re equally qualified (or more qualified) than others around you, you may find yourself feeling less experienced or knowledgeable. If so, it’s time to break that pattern, because you are far more capable than you give yourself credit for. Learn how to have executive presence by owning your power and expertise.

You know your material, so own your expertise. Don’t be afraid to share your thoughts and stand up to challenges. Don’t defer to senior leadership just because they’re higher up on the organizational hierarchy.

Know that your analysis and opinions are just as important as those of anyone else in the room. When senior leadership invites you to speak on a topic, give them what they’re looking for by being forthright. Give them your honest opinions and perspective. Push back when you disagree with an idea. Don’t be afraid to stand up to opposing views. Answer questions respectfully but confidently, even if your response challenges the hierarchy. They want to hear your honest thoughts on the matter—that’s why they brought you to the table. When you look at it that way, it will feel easier to have the confidence to give them your genuine perspectives.
