Established as a college in 1841 through a royal charter, Queen's became one of the earliest Canadian institutions to admit women. With the risk of financial hardships plaguing the school in the 1880s, Queen's flirted with the idea of merging with UofT. Eventually receiving a sum of money from a wealthy benefactor, Queens maintained its independence and achieved University status in 1881.

The Milkman took to Kingston to find out what it's like studying at Queens and a few things became evident: if you can survive the May flies and brisk weather, this may just be the campus for you.
