Ford created the world’s best-selling car and revolutionized the auto industry with the Model T, which only came in Black.
However, General Motors was offering a much wider range of options and Ford began to lose market share and public interest for the Model T.
Henry Ford’s son, Edsel, saw an opportunity to provide more options for their brand by purchasing a company facing financial difficulties.
On February 4, 1922, Ford Motor Company bought the bankrupt Lincoln Motor Company for $8million and developed it into Ford’s first luxury division.
By 1939, the Lincoln Continental was born, which Frank Lloyd Wright described as “the most beautiful car ever made.”
