Elon Musk has been against government tax credits, but at the same time wants the electric vehicle industry to be treated on a level playing field with the internal combustion engine. The Canadian government is offering a tax incentive that could enable Canadians to get up to 50% off a Tesla this year, in 2023. While Ontario has completely scrapped its electric vehicle incentive plans, Canada is offering a 100% tax deduction write-off for electric vehicles purchased by businesses, which any business can claim as long as they are not used for personal purposes more than 50% of the time. There is no restriction on the price of the electric vehicle being purchased, but there is a limit on the maximum deduction allowed. However, this is the FINAL year where this tax incentive fully applies. Shifting to EVs has many benefits for the country, including reducing dependence on foreign oil and improving public health, and so Canadians better hurry to make the shift, at a steep discount. #tesla #ElonMusk #ElectricVehicles
