In this video I have the pleasure of having a discussion with award winning author and podcaster Tom Holland. Tom is the host of the "The Rest is History" podcast and the author of many books such as: Dominion, The Shadow of the Sword, Rubicon, Pax, and Persian Fire. In addition to being a hit podcaster and a prolific author Tom Holland has also recorded a number of documentaries covering the rise of Islam and the advent of Christianity.

We focus on two of his books: Dominion and The Shadow of the Sword, which discuss the history of Christianity and Islam respectively. We discuss a wide range of topics including modernity, morality, the influence of Christianity on modern values, the rise of Islam, and the late and great Professor Patricia Crone.
